The clear DownJigger shown on the left was used for four years during the
equivalent of eight 5 Day/4 Night trips and caught more than 1100 salmon
including a "Salmon Grand Slam" (All Five Pacific Salmon species in 24
hr period) before it was, sadly, lost during the 2006 season.
Unlike the original** DownJigger, the Chinook Cove Lodge Hi-Torque model is
individually customized and tuned and features
a hi-torque double prop, a stiffened main spring, 120 pound test Dyneema
jigging cord, and a flash taped side and prop. These modifications have been thoroughly tested for the last ten
years and make it far more versatile the the original version.

The original** DownJigger pictured at right was a good tool but was
optimized for a trolling speed of 2 knots (2.3 mph). At slower
salmon trolling speeds 1.7 to 2.1 mph, the standard prop didn't
have sufficient power to jig salmon gear especially when using a dodger
or flasher.
The Hi-Torque prop solved this problem and, with the internal
modifications, made the downjigged bait
three times more effective than baits on a standard downrigger.

The Chinook Cove Lodge Hi-Torque DownJigger is available in Blaze Orange,
Chartreuse or Clear.
The clear side* is covered with highly reflective flash tape for even
better fish attraction. Two prop blades are also flash taped causing a
pulsating flash as the prop rotates.
The Downjigger is a fish catching machine (3 to 1 over non-jigged baits) yet it is no harder to use than a
plain downrigger!

does not sell the double prop except to purchasers of the Hi-Torque
DownJigger.
